American Gods’ Yetide Badaki to guest star on Season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Yetide Badaki, best known for her role as Bilquis in Starz’ American Gods, will be guest starring in an episode in the highly anticipated upcoming second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The series returns June 15 on Paramount+.

The series stars Anson Mount as Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One/ Una Chin-Riley, Ethan Peck as Spock, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’An Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas and Babs Olusanmokun as Joseph M’Benga. Season two also features the return of special guest star Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk and new addition Carol Kane in a recurring role as Pelia.

In a recent clip released, Star Trek fans got a first-look at Number One/ Una Chin-Riley (played by Rebecca Romijn) on trial after her arrest in the season one finale. Badaki will play the role Neera Ketoul, the legal counsel who’s been assigned to represent Number One. The episode will deal social issues through the lens of sci-fi.

In season two of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, confronts increasingly dangerous stakes, explores uncharted territories, and encounters new life and civilizations. The crew will also embark on personal journeys that will continue to test their resolve and redefine their destinies. Facing friends and enemies both new and familiar, their adventures will unfold in surprising ways never seen before on any "Star Trek" series.

Badaki was last seen playing NBA Champion Giannis Antetokounmpo’s mother in the Disney+ film Rise.

Among her upcoming projects is teaming with Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Spartacus creator Steven S. DeKnight and Mo Abudu to develop a series with Starz on the the life of African Warrior Queen Nzinga. She’s also developing a Nigerian vampire story as a TV series and a comic and has teamed with Payback Entertainment, the company founded by Insecure showrunner Prentice Penny and Stranger Comics President Sebastian A. Jones.
