Exclusive: Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead interviews with director Wade Allain-Marcus, Simone Joy Jones, & Nicole Ritchie

Hitting theaters nationwide exclusively on April 12, 2024 from Iconic Events Releasing is Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead, a fresh and sharp reimagining of the 90s classic directed by Wade Allain-Marcus (French Dirty) from a script by Emmy-nominated writer Chuck Hayward ( “Ted Lasso,” “WandaVision”).

Simone Joy Jones leads in the iconic Christina Applegate role alongside an ensemble cast including Nicole Richie, June Squibb, Donielle Tremaine Hensley, Jermaine Fowler and Ms. Pat with newcomers Miles Fowler, Iantha Richardson, Gus Kenworthy, Tyriq Withers rounding out the cast.

Seventeen-year-old Tanya Crandell (Simone Joy Jones) can’t wait to spend the summer living it up with her friends in Spain before heading to Howard University in the fall. But when her mom (Ms. Pat) decides to head to a much-needed wellness retreat in Thailand, Tanya is forced to stay home with her three siblings instead. Following the unexpected death of their elderly babysitter (June Squibb), Tanya gets a job working for the confident and ambitious Rose (Nicole Richie). Juggling work, family, and a complicated romance, Tanya faces the responsibility of adulthood at the cost of her summer of freedom.

Prior to directing, Wade Allain-Marcus is known for his acting roles in HBO’s Insecure, French Dirty, which was co-directed with his brother Jesse Allain-Marcus and Antoine Fuqua’s Brooklyn's Finest.

Simone Joy Jones is known for her role as Lisa Wilkes on Peacock's modern-day reinterpretation, Bel-Air.

Nicole Richie is a TV personality, fashion designer, and actress best known for her reality television series The Simple Life (2003–2007). She later starred in the unscripted comedy series Candidly Nicole (2014–2015), which ran for two seasons. From 2017 to 2018, Richie starred in her first series regular acting role as Portia Scott-Griffith in the sitcom Great News. She recently appeared as herself in Good Burger 2.
