Exclusive: Andi Matichak, Rohan Campbell, Kyle Richards & director David Gordon Green talk Halloween Ends

Currently in theaters is possibly the final, final chapter in the Michael Myers saga, Halloween Ends, directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode.

The cast also includes Andi Matichak, James Jude Courtney, Will Patton, Rohan Campbell, and Kyle Richards.

This is Laurie Strode’s last stand.

After 45 years, the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying conclusion as Laurie Strode faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers, in a final confrontation unlike any captured on-screen before. Only one of them will survive.

Four years after the events of last year’s Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can’t control, once and for all.

Prior to making her film debut as Allyson Nelson in the horror film Halloween, Halloween Kills and this film, Matichak had appeared in TV series such as 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods.

Campbell is best known for his role as Frank Hardy on the 2020s TV series The Hardy Boys. He has also appeared in TV series such as Mech-X4, The 100, and iZombie.

For Kyle Richards, she get to return to the franchise to reprise her role as Lindsey Wallace, one of the children Laurie babysat in the 1978 original film. As a child actress she had a recurring role on Little House on the Prairie, and in several adventure and horror films, including Tobe Hooper's Eaten Alive, The Car, and Walt Disney’s The Watcher in the Woods. As an adult, she’s been a main cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and as of 2022, is the last remaining original cast member on the show.

As for director David Gordon Green, although he’s directed the last 3 Halloween films, he’s not tied to being a horror filmmaker. He previously directed Stronger with Jake Gyllenhaal, Our Brand of Crisis with Sandra Bullock and the comedy films, Your Highness and Pineapple Express. He will still keep up with the horror genre as he’s set to direct a sequel to The Exorcist.

Blackfilmandtv.com’s Wilson Morales spoke with cast and director on their experience working on Halloween Ends.
