Exclusive: B.J. Britt & Skye Townsend talk OWN's A Christmas Serenade
Coming to OWN on December 2 as the first of their holiday films is A Christmas Serenade, produced and directed by Roger Bobb and starring B.J. Britt and Skye Townsend. The film will also stream on Max.
When Jeremiah returns home for the first time in years to play a gig with his band, he is recruited to take over as the minister of music for the annual Christmas Jubilee at his home church reigniting the feud, and romance, between the pastor's daughter Willow.
Britt is best known for playing Agent Antoine Triplett in Marvel’s action adventure television series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. He also appeared in numerous television shows including CSI: Miami, Veronica Mars, The Vampire Diaries, and Cold Case. His other television credits include Dylan in That’s So Raven, Walter Dickerson in Everybody Hates Chris, Justin Merrick in Nikita, Darnell in Sons of Anarchy, Paul Patterson Jr. in Being Mary Jane, and Reggie Mitchella in Behind Enemy Lines. He was cast as central character Darius Beck in the television series Unreal.
Townsend is best known for her work on HBO’s Emmy-winning A Black Lady Sketch Show, where she recurred on the sketch comedy series in the first two seasons and was promoted to series regular beginning in Season 3. The show wrapped its four-season run earlier this year. Most recently, Townsend starred in the Comedy Central/MTV film Pretty Stoned. Her previous credits include iCarly on Paramount+; Netflix’s Lucifer, where she played a musician and had the opportunity to perform two of her original songs on screen at The Hollywood Bowl; BET’s Road the BET Experience; and her web series 8 Days a Week.
