Exclusive: Clipped interviews with Laurence Fishburne, Ed O’Neill, Jacki Weaver and Cleopatra Coleman & more

Premiering Tuesday, June 4 exclusively on Hulu is the FX limited series, “Clipped,” the scandalous tale of NBA owner Donald Sterling’s racist remarks, previously captured on a globally heard tape. Adapted from the renowned ESPN 30 for 30 podcast, “The Sterling Affairs,” this series navigates the intersection of a dysfunctional basketball organization and an even more tumultuous marriage, examining the impact of the incriminating tape on a cast of characters striving for victory against the backdrop of the league’s most beleaguered team.

Clipped” will kick off with two initial episodes on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+, followed by subsequent releases every Tuesday.

Focusing on Coach Doc Rivers (Laurence Fishburne), who assumes leadership of the LA Clippers in 2013, the series unfolds against the promise of a championship with a roster boasting prominent personalities. However, the team’s owner, Donald Sterling (Ed O’Neill), proves to be a prominent obstacle due to his frugality, erratic behavior, and bullying tendencies. Doc Rivers embarks on a personal quest to minimize Sterling’s influence in the pursuit of a title.

A compelling courtside power struggle ensues between Sterling’s ambitious personal assistant, V. Stiviano (Cleopatra Coleman), and his wife and business partner of six decades, Shelly (Jacki Weaver). “Clipped” captures the essence of an Obama-era narrative of racial reckoning, intricately woven into the fabric of meme culture, exploring power dynamics in the internet age. As V. and the Sterlings grapple with the reality of power, Rivers and his players question whether expelling one bad apple can truly usher in the transformative change celebrated by the media.

The ensemble cast features Kelly AuCoin as former Los Angeles Clippers President Andy Roese, J. Alphonse Nicholson as Chris Paul, Sheldon “Shel” Bailey as D’Andre Jordan, Sarunas J. Jackson as Matt Barnes, Charlie McElveen as JJ Reddick, and Austin Scott as Blake Griffin.

Rich Sommers will play the Clippers’ PR man Seth Burton, Corbin Bernsen as Pierce O’Donnell, Clifton Davis as NBA great Elgin Baylor, and Harriet Sansom Harris as “Justine..”

Blackfilmandtv.com's Wilson Morales talks to Laurence Fishburne, Ed O’Neill, Jacki Weaver, Cleopatra Coleman, and producers Gina Welch, Rembert Browne and Kevin Bray on FX's Clipped and playing Doc Rivers, Donald Sterling, Shelly Sterling, and #VStiviano
