Exclusive: Dominique Fishback talks The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey and working with Samuel L. Jackson
Currently playing on Apple TV+ is the new series “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey,” starring Samuel L. Jackson.
Based on the acclaimed novel by best-selling author Walter Mosley, who also serves as Executive Producer, Jackson stars as Ptolemy Grey, an ailing man forgotten by his family, by his friends, by even himself. Suddenly left without his trusted caretaker and on the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia, Ptolemy is assigned to the care of orphaned teenager Robyn, who is played by Dominique Fishback (“Judas and the BlackMessiah”). When they learn about a treatment that can restore Ptolemy’s dementia-addled memories, it begins a journey toward shocking truths about the past, present and future.
In addition to Jackson and Fishback, the Apple Original limited series stars Walton Goggins (“Justified,” “The Unicorn”), Marsha Stephanie Blake (“I Am Your Woman,” “When They See Us”), Damon Gupton (“Black Lightning,” “Bates Motel”), Cynthia Kaye McWilliams (“Coyote,” “Real Husbands of Hollywood”) and Omar Miller (“The Unicorn,” “Ballers”).
Fishback is best known for having played Billie Rowan on HBO’s Show Me a Hero, Darlene on HBO’s The Deuce, and Deborah Johnson in Judas and the Black Messiah, for which earned her a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Other film credits include Night Comes On, The Hate U Give, Project Power and the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Beasts opposite Anthony Ramos.
