Blackfilmandtv.com's Wilson Morales recently spoke to Elvis Nolasco, Kristolyn Lloyd, Ayden Gavin and director Brandon Espy on Mr. Crocket, which plays on Hulu on Oct. 11.

Directed by up-and-comer Brandon Espy, from his script written with Carl Reid, Mr. Crocket is based on the 2022 short of the same name, written and directed by Espy for Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween. Part of WorthenBrooks’ first-look horror slate with Hulu Originals, the film was developed by WorthenBrooks, with David Brooks, Arbi Pedrossian, Jenna Cavelle, and Carl Reid serving as lead producers. Miles Alva is an executive producer. Sean King O’Grady, Josh Feldman, and Jesse Ford are co-producing.

The cast includes Jerrika Hinton, Elvis Nolasco, Ayden Gavin, Kristolyn Lloyd, and Alex Akpobome.

In 1993, a mysterious children's show host, Mr. Crocket, magically emerges from television sets to kidnap young children, brutally slaying their parents in the process. After Mr. Crocket snatches her son, one determined mother embarks on a perilous quest to track down the demonic entertainer and rescue her boy.

One of the stars of MGM+’s Godfather of Harlem, Nolasco has also appeared in notable roles on series like John Ridley’s American Crime, All American, She’s Gotta Have It, and Claws. In addition to such Spike Lee films as Oldboy and Da Sweet Blood of Jesus, he’s previously appeared on the film side in Netflix’s Sundance drama Roxanne Roxanne.
