Exclusive: Jamie Foxx and Kyla-Drew talk Netflix Series ‘Dad Stop Embarrassing Me’
Now playing on Netflix is the comedy series, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me from Oscar winning actor and producer Jamie Foxx (Just Mercy, Project Power).
The eight-episode series is inspired by Jamie’s relationship with his daughter, Corinne Foxx, who produces alongside Alex Avant. The series premieres Wednesday, April 14 on Netflix.
The multi-camera series will also star David Alan Grier, Kyla-Drew, Porscha Coleman, and Jonathan Kite. Heather Hemmens and Valente Rodriguez will appear in recurring roles. Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! will feature guest appearances by Jackée Harry and Luenell.
Brian Dixon (Jamie Foxx), successful business owner and bachelor, just unexpectedly became a full-time father to his teenage daughter Sasha (Kyla-Drew). Determined to turn over a new leaf, Brian’s going to need all the help he can get from his dad (David Alan Grier) and sister (Porscha Coleman) — and Sasha’s going to need all the help she can get learning how to fit into her new, lovingly imperfect home.
Foxx has been a staple on the TV scene going back 30 years when he first landed a gig on In Living Color, followed by his own TV show, The Jamie Foxx Show. He also executive produced and hosted the game show Beat Shazam, in which his daughter Corinne served as the DJ. On Netflix, Foxx starred in the action film Project Power.
For Kyla-Drew, this is her first big role since she appeared in the Academy Award-nominated film Prisoners. She had a recurring role on the Nickelodeon series Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn.
