Exclusive: Javicia Leslie talks new film, the thriller ‘Double Life’
Hitting Theaters and on Digital on May 5, 2023 and on Demand on May 19, 2023 from Paramount Global Content Distribution is the thriller Double Life, directed by Martin Wood and starring Javicia Leslie (Batwoman, Something from Tiffany's) and Pascale Hutton (Sanctuary, Arctic Air).
Written by Michael Hurst, the cast also includes Vincent Gale, Niall Matter, Aaron Douglas, John Cassini, William MacDonald, Carmen Moore, B. J. Harrison, Kaaren de Zilva, Veronika Hadravá, Jojo Ahenkorah, Arlina Rodríguez, and Alex Stines.
A grieving widow (Pascale Hutton) learns from her late husband’s mistress (Javicia Leslie) that his death was no accident. The two women will form an unlikely alliance to uncover the truth behind his murder and unmask the man they both loved.
Leslie is best known for her reign over Gotham City as Ryan Wilder in D.C.'s “Batwoman”. Her casting made global history as the first bisexual Black actress to portray the role. Her other television roles included CBS' #1 drama, “God Friended Me,” the beloved CBS "MacGyver" reboot and BET's #1 drama series "The Family Business." On film, she was the lead in the hilarious comedy, “Always a Bridesmaid” written by Yvette Nicole Brown. Leslie also appeared in the Prime Video’s holiday Rom Com "Something From Tiffany's" opposite Kendrick Sampson. In 2023 she returned to the Arrowverse in her role as Batwoman on the last season of “The Flash” in a recurring arc.
