Exclusive: Jordan Peele talks Nope and whether he favors reactions or people debating his films
Coming out this week is the highly anticipated film Nope, which reunites Oscar winner Jordan Peele with Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out, Judas and the Black Messiah). Daniel is joined by Keke Palmer (Hustlers, Alice) and Oscar nominee Steven Yeun (Minari, Okja) as residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.
Nope, which co-stars Michael Wincott (Hitchcock, Westworld) and Brandon Perea (The OA, American Insurrection), is written and directed by Jordan Peele and is produced by Ian Cooper (Us, Candyman) and Jordan Peele for Monkeypaw Productions.
For Peele, who recently was a screenwriter and producer on last year’s Candyman, this is his first directorial film since he did 2019’s Us, which starred Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke. Among his other projects, he also developed and served as narrator for the sci-fi TV series The Twilight Zone, the third revival of the original 1959-64 anthology series that aired on CBS, for CBS All Access.
In speaking with Blackfilmandtv.com correspondent Sidnee Michelle, Jordan talked about whether he favors reactions or debates from those who sees his films.
