Exclusive: Luther: The Fallen Sun interviews with Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Andy Serkis and filmmakers
Coming to Netflix on March 10 is Luther: The Fallen Sun, an epic continuation of the 2010–19 award-winning British television series of the same name.
The film was released in select theaters on 24 February 2023, before its streaming release on 10 March 2023, by Netflix.
Directed by Jamie Payne from a script written by Neil Cross, the cast includes Idris Elba returning as John Luther, Cynthia Erivo, Andy Serkis, and Dermot Crowley, who returns as Martin Schenk.
A gruesome serial killer is terrorizing London while brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther (Idris Elba) sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.
Serkis is David Robey, a tech billionaire moonlighting as a serial killer who uses surveillance technology to manipulate and kill civilians. He is also an adversary of Luther.
Erivo plays DCI Odette Raine, the current head of the Serious and Serial Crime Unit, hunting down Luther and Robey.
