Exclusive: My Spy The Eternal City interviews with Chloe Coleman & cast

Hitting Prime Video on July 19 is My Spy The Eternal City, the follow-up to 2020's action comedy My Spy, with the same director and cast returning for this next one set mostly in Italy,

Directed by Peter Segal, the cast includes Dave Bautista & Chloe Coleman back as JJ and Sophie, respectively. Returning stars Ken Jeong and Kristen Schaal are joined in this sequel by Anna Faris, Craig Robinson, and Flula Borg.

My Spy The Eternal City reunites the beloved cast led by stars Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman in a feel-good family adventure set in some of Europe's most storied destinations.

When Sophie's high school choir is selected for an Italian tour culminating in a performance for the Pope in Vatican City, JJ sees this as an opportunity to bond with his new stepdaughter, so he volunteers to help chaperone the group through the Venetian canals, across Florence’s renowned bridges and into Rome’s most historic sites. Instead he finds that he and Sophie have become unwitting pawns in a terrorist plot that could end the world as we know it.

Coleman recently appeared in David Yates’ Netflix pic The Pain Hustlers, with Emily Blunt and Chris Evans. Prior to that, she was Paramount and eOne’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Sony’s sci-fi thriller 65 opposite Adam Driver, and James Cameron’s hit sequel Avatar: The Way of Water.

Best known for films including The Hangover franchise and Knocked Up, as well as series like NBC’s Community, Jeong was recently seen on the Apple TV+ comedy series The Afterparty and in Charlie Day’s directorial debut, Fool’s Paradise. He also previously appeared in such blockbusters as Crazy Rich Asians, Pineapple Express, Step Brothers and Ride Along 2, while creating, writing, exec producing and leading his own ABC sitcom, Dr. Ken. Jeong.

Schaal is an Emmy nom who recently starred opposite Tony Hale in the Disney+ series The Mysterious Benedict Society. She voices roles multiple roles on Bob’s Burgers and has also recently been seen on series including What We Do in the Shadows and Our Flag Means Death.

Borg starred alongside Adam Devine, Sarah Hyland and Jameela Jamil in Peacock’s comedy Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, based on the acclaimed film franchise of the same name. He has previously been seen on series like The Rookie, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Good Place, and in films including Pitch Perfect 2, Bromates, The Suicide Squad and the Slamdance-winning Buddymoon

In addition to My Spy, Segal has helmed features including Get Smart, The Longest Yard, 50 First Dates, Anger Management and Tommy Boy, among others. His TV credits include Heels, Survivor’s Remorse, Shameless, Angie Tribeca and comedy specials like Sebastian Maniscalco: Is It Me?.
