Exclusive: Omari Hardwick talks The Mother and working with Jennifer Lopez

Coming out this week on Netflix is the action thriller The Mother, starring Jennifer Lopez, Joseph Fiennes, Lucy Paez, Omari Hardwick, Paul Raci and Gael Garcia Bernal.

Directed by Niki Caro, the screenplay was written by Lovecraft Country creator Misha Green and Straight Outta Compton‘s Andrea Berloff and Peter Craig from a story by Misha Green.

Lopez plays a deadly female assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter that she gave up years before, while on the run from dangerous men. Hardwick plays FBI Agent William Cruise, who helps Lopez’s character get out of danger

Best known for his starring role as James "Ghost" St. Patrick in Starz's Power, Hardwick has since appeared in a number of projects different from the persona he had in the Starz series. He was featured in both of Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead and Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. He was opposite Toni Collette in the Netflix series Pieces of Her. He recently starred in the sports comedy Fantasy Football with Marsai Martin and he will next be seen in Kevin J. Nelson’s thriller Phels High.
