Exclusive: Oscar Winner composer Ludwig Göransson on scoring Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer
Hitting theaters nationwide on July 21 is the heavy anticipated film, Oppenheimer, directed by Christoper Nolan.
The movie follows theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during the Manhattan Project (started in 1939 it ran from 1942 to 1946) and his contributions that led to the creation of the very first atomic bomb during World War II.
The cast features Cillian Murphy as "Oppie", with Emily Blunt as "Kitty" Oppenheimer, Matt Damon as Leslie Groves, Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss, Florence Pugh as Jean Tatlock, as well as Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, Jason Clarke, Kenneth Branagh, Casey Affleck, Scott Grimes, David Dastmalchian, David Krumholtz, and others.
Göransson scored films such as Fruitvale Station, the Rocky franchise entries Creed and Creed II, Venom, Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Nolan's Tenet, and the animated film Turning Red. For his work on the 2018 superhero film Black Panther, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Score and the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media. His work on The Mandalorian earned him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series for both season 1 and season 2's finales.
