Exclusive: Terri J. Vaughn talks directing Hallmark's Unthinkably Good Things & joining Bounce's Johnson series
Coming out on August 28 on the Hallmark Channel is the romantic comedy Unthinkably Good Things, starring Karen Pittman, Joyful Drake, Erica Ash & Lance Gross star, with Terri J. Vaughn directing.
This is the first film under the Crown Media+Mahogany banner, where this collaboration is about elevating stories that share the power of inclusion, sisterhood and resilience rooted in Blackness.
The film, set to debut on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, sees a woman named Allison (Pittman) at a crossroads in her career and love life, in need of the love and support of her two friends Melina (Joyful Drake) and Reesa (Erica Ash). When they visit her in Tuscany, the reunion causes each woman to reexamine the state of her own life and relationships. While they have different personalities and perspectives, they know each other’s truths and help to make life-changing decisions.
For Terri J. Vaghn, to have her film be the first for the Mahogany banner is a huge deal. While she is best known for playing high school secretary Lovita Alizay Jenkins-Robinson in The WB sitcom The Steve Harvey Show, the San Francisco native has also successfully crossed over to the directing side as well with films such as Merry Wish-Mas, Angrily Ever After, Hip Hop Holiday, and The Holiday Switch to name a few. She still keeps a foot in the acting door with role in films and TV programs such as Insecure, Terror Lake Drive, First Wives Club, We Stay Looking, and The Neighborhood. She’s currently can be in the Bounce dramedy series Johnson as Wanda Brooks in a regular role.
