Writer-Director Mario Van Peebles talks western film Outlaw Posse

Currently playing in theaters from Quiver Distribution is the wester action film Outlaw Posse, written and directed by Mario Van Peebles and starring Mario Van Peebles, William Mapother, John Carroll Lynch, D.C Young Fly, Mandela Van Peebles,  Amber Reign Smith, Neil McDonough, Jake Manley, Allen Payne, Cam Gigandet, M. Emmet Walsh, with Edward James Olmos, Cedric the Entertainer and Whoopi Goldberg.

1908. CHIEF (Mario Van Peebles) returns from years of hiding in Mexico to claim stolen gold hidden in the hills of Montana. In his quest, he reunites an ensemble of fresh & familiar faces - together they fight off ANGEL, whose rationale to the gold leaves a trail of deception and dead bodies.

Peebles is best known for appearing in Heartbreak Ridge in 1986 and known for directing and starring in New Jack City in 1991 and USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage in 2016. He is the son of actor and filmmaker Melvin Van Peebles, whom he portrayed in the 2003 biopic Baadasssss!, which he also co-wrote and directed. Melvin also appeared in Mario’s 1993 western film Posse.
