Angel Studios, the platform empowering filmmakers with full creative control to crowdfund and create, is honored to give early access for the upcoming film SOUND OF HOPE: THE STORY OF POSSUM TROT to audiences with a special free screening on June 19th as part of AMC’s Juneteenth programming initiative. This free offer is in conjunction with Angel Studios’ Pay it Forward program.
SOUND OF HOPE: THE STORY OF POSSUM TROT is inspired by the powerful true story of Donna and Bishop Martin, as they ignite a fire in the hearts of their rural church to embrace kids in the foster system that nobody else would take. By doing the impossible - adopting 77 children - this East Texas community proved that, with real, determined love, the battle for America’s most vulnerable can be won.
AMC’s Juneteenth programming initiative was championed by an internal AMC advisory council working on behalf of African American associates to strengthen AMC’s cultural awareness and to advance the company’s overall DEI strategy. These titles are presented to AMC guests via collaboration of the Council on the AMC African American Experience, AMC’s programming team, and studio partners.
