Tyler Perry’s “Straw” Starring Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd and Teyana Taylor & More Set At Netflix
Netflix has announced that writer-director Tyler Perry has set the cast for Straw, his latest film for the streamer.
Taraji P. Henson is set to star alongside Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor , Glynn Turman, Sinbad, Rockmond Dunbar, Mike Merrill and Ashley Versher.
Straw watches as a single mother faces a series of unfortunate events that lead her down an unexpected path. Struggling against circumstances beyond her control, she becomes entangled in a situation she never imagined. Fueled by desperation, she finds herself at the center of suspicion in a world that seems indifferent to her existence.
Perry will produce alongside Angi Bones and Tony Strickland.
Past Perry films for Netflix include Mea Culpa starring Kelly Rowland, which debuted at #1 on The Top 10 English Films List, as well as A Jazzman’s Blues, A Madea Homecoming, and the thriller A Fall from Grace. Upcoming projects include The Six Triple Eight starring an ensemble cast led by Kerry Washington, and the recently announced drama series Beauty in Black.
