Prime Video to premiere Season 2 of Anthology Series ‘Them’ in 2024

Prime Video recently released a reel highlighting what's to come in 2024 and included was a snippet to the second season to Them, the anthology series that premiered in 2021.

Season 1 actress Deborah Ayorinde is the only cast member returning in a new role and story. Luke James and Pam Grier will lead the ensemble that includes Joshua J. Williams, Jeremy Bobb, Carlito Olivero, Wayne Knight,, Charles Brice, and Iman Shumpert. Series creator Little Marvin serves as showrunner and executive produces with Miri Yoon and Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment and Steve Prinz. Season 2 title is called Them: The Scare.

Once again set in Los Angeles County, the period moves to 1991. The story centers on LAPD Detective Dawn Reeve (Ayorinde) as she's assigned to a gruesome murder case that's left even the most hardened detectives shaken. But as she draws closer to the truth, something malevolent grips Dawn and her family.

Grier plays Dawn’s mother, Athena. She’s eticulous, clever and prideful, but her mama bear qualities hide secrets. James plays Edmund Gaines, an aspiring actor who appears to be a sensitive soul but has a deep void within him.

Williams will play Kelvin “Kel” Reeve, Dawn’s teenage son, who’s harboring a secret from both his mom and his grandmother. Bobb will play Detective Ronald McKinney, Dawn’s partner, who has a reputation for closing cases quickly and through sometimes questionable means.

Knight will recur as Lt. Schiff, Dawn’s supervisor at the LAPD. Olivero will play Joaquin Diaz, a newly minted detective who wants to impress Dawn. Brice plays Reggie Marks, a stylish and charming attorney for the city of Los Angeles. Shumpert plays Dawn’s ex, Corey, a musician who’s frequently on the road.

THEM season 1 centered on the Emroys, a Black family that moves from North Carolina to an all-White neighborhood in Los Angeles during the Second Great Migration. But their hopes for a perfect home slowly transform into an epicenter of evil forces, both regular and otherworldly, that threaten to destroy them. The cast included Deborah Ayorinde, Ashley Thomas, Alison Pill, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Melody Hurd, and Ryan Kwanten.
