Exclusive: Ron Cephas Jones talks Stephen King's Lisey's Story and getting more work after This Is Us

Now playing onApple TV+ is the highly anticipated limited series “Lisey’s Story,” based on the best-selling novel, and adapted and written by author Stephen King. Starring Academy Award-winner Julianne Moore and Academy Award-nominee Clive Owen, the eight-episode Apple Original series premiered globally on Friday, June 4, 2021, with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday.

Directed by Pablo Larraín, “Lisey’s Story” is a deeply personal, pensive thriller that follows Lisey Landon (played by Moore) two years after the death of her husband, famous novelist Scott Landon (played by Owen). A series of unsettling events causes Lisey to face memories of her marriage to Scott that she has deliberately blocked out of her mind. Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dane DeHaan, Ron Cephas Jones and Sung Kang also star alongside Moore and Owen.

Having won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of William "Shakespeare" Hill in the NBC drama series This Is Us, Ron Cephas Jones plays Professor Roger Dashmiel, who feels a connection to Scott Landon's unplublished work.

His other TV credits include Mr. Robot, The Get Down, Luke Cage, and Truth Be Told. BlackFilmandTV.com’s Wilson Morales spoke to Jones about his role, working with this cast and getting more work after This Is Us.
